Taylor Technologies R-0010-C Calcium Buffer 2 OZ

The Essential First Step for Accurate Calcium Hardness Testing

The Taylor R-0010-C Calcium Hardness Buffer is a critical reagent for performing the Calcium Hardness test within Taylor's 2000 Series and other compatible liquid test kits. This 2-ounce bottle is a professional-size refill that ensures the chemical reaction for the test occurs at the correct pH, guaranteeing a clear, precise, and reliable endpoint. For pool and spa owners who rely on accurate water balance, this reagent is the unsung hero that makes trustworthy calcium hardness readings possible.

Key Features & Benefits:

  • Enables Accurate Hardness Testing: This buffer is not the test itself, but a vital preparatory agent. It adjusts the sample's pH to a level where the indicator dye (R-0011) can properly react with calcium ions, leading to a definitive and accurate color change.

  • Prevents Scale and Corrosion: Accurate calcium hardness testing is crucial for protecting your pool. This reagent helps you maintain ideal levels to prevent scale buildup on surfaces and equipment (if too high) or corrosive water that can etch plaster and damage metal components (if too low).

  • Professional-Grade Reliability: The 2-ounce (R-0010-C) size offers a larger volume for frequent testers and professionals, providing excellent value and ensuring you never run out during the pool season. Trusted for its consistency and purity.

  • Maintains Test Kit Integrity: This is a direct refill for the R-0010 reagent supplied in your Taylor test kit. Replacing consumed or expired reagents is essential for maintaining the accuracy and reliability of your entire water testing system.

  • Proudly Made in the USA: Manufactured by Taylor Technologies with rigorous quality control standards, ensuring precise performance in every drop.

How It Is Used:

The R-0010-C is used as part of a sequence in a liquid drop test:

  1. A water sample is added to the test vial.

  2. 20 drops of R-0010 Calcium Hardness Buffer are added to the sample and swirled.

  3. 5 drops of R-0011 Calcium Hardness Indicator are added and swirled, turning the sample red.

  4. The sample is then titrated with R-0012 Calcium Hardness Titrant drop by drop until the color changes from red to blue. The number of drops used calculates the Calcium Hardness.

Important Note: This product is a component refill and cannot be used as a standalone test. It must be used as part of a complete Taylor liquid test kit (such as the K-2005 or K-2006) that includes a Calcium Hardness test.

Ideal For:

  • Pool and spa service professionals

  • Owners of Taylor 2000 Series test kits (K-2005, K-2006) or other compatible kits
